AM - 11.4 miles. First JAJA run of the new year. We went through Tanner Park (creepy in the dark) up to Parley's trail and Wasatch Drive. I cut off at 8 miles and headed up to work. From up at HCI right now, you can see the smog starting to really build up in the valley. One of my co-workers said that they saw a group of bright orange and green runners with flashing lights when they were driving up here and figured it was me. At least we are noticeable!

PM - 10 miles home, nice and easy... colorful sunset.

So I've got a question which I should have asked ages ago. What do you carry with you when you run to work? Do you have to carry work clothes and a laptop or anything or do you keep stuff at work in a drawer or something?

I get asked that a lot. I don't carry anything other than my ID. I usually drive up here one day a week, and bring a duffel bag with a week's worth of clothes, and food. Luckily I have enough space in my office to store it all. And I have all my shower stuff up here too. So it works out pretty easily for me - as long as I plan ahead and leave enough stuff cached in my office, I can run back and forth most of the time. Its pretty sweet that I'm able to do this... the only days I have to drive are either for "resupply" or if we are meeting somewhere different for a workout.

We have showers at my office, which I use almost daily. I also have drawers in my office I could put clothes in. I have the ability to run to work T,W,Th, I just need to start doing it.

It really makes finding the motivation to run doubles easy. I'm pretty self-motivated as it is, but if running is my way home, there are absolutely no excuses to get out the door again!

I also don't mind eating the same thing for breakfast/lunch multiple days in a row. Make a casserole, shove a big bowl of it in the back of the fridge at work, and I'm all set.
