PM - 5 miles w/ the biker again.

You know how sometimes its annoying when those stupid Garmins measure a course wrong? Well, thanks to the most fantastic birthday present ever from Allie and James, I'll never have to worry about that again. I'm not sure if they developed it themselves or stole a prototype Fast Running Friend from Sasha, but this baby is legit. Its got 4 CPUs, 3-D holograms that show you where you are relative to the 1, 5, 8, and 10 minute guys, and it never runs out of battery because its powered by a sixth generation arc reactor that would make Tony Stark jealous.

It said I ran 100 meters in front of our condo in 9.2 seconds so I don't even need to calibrate it! :-)

Sorry I missed TCBY Jake. Happy birthday.

I wore my Alta singlet today!

From fiddy on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 19:04:52 from 97.126.221.226

Possibly the best frb post ever.

From SlowJoe on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 19:05:26 from 96.61.24.215

Oh man, where do I get one of those?! Is that a flux capacitor?

Congrats on the new WR.

From allie on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 19:06:47 from 97.126.221.226

great job on that 100m. i forgot to mention that the square root button will eject a gu. you have to press it twice.

From Jason D on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 19:20:01 from 24.1.80.94

Rad.

From Matt Schreiber on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 19:21:51 from 66.17.102.185

Wow.. Got a good chuckle out of this one. Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Jake!

From Rob Murphy on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 19:30:24 from 24.10.249.165

Nice!

The singlet and the cutting edge technology.

From Paul on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 20:34:59 from 168.103.89.119

Are you race-walking in that picture?

From Jake K on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 20:37:48 from 67.177.11.154

Yes, with both feet barely off the ground, the way all race walker do it (ie. cheat).

From Lulu Walls on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 20:46:43 from 166.70.240.95

There is absolutely NO way you will ever top that gift!

From CollinAnderson on Sun, May 05, 2013 at 23:56:48 from 70.208.2.244

Nice blacked out Nike logo! (forgot it in the last picture... hah...) Seriously, though, that is a pretty rad gift.

From Bam on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 00:37:43 from 89.126.28.24

Ha ha. That's very funny.

I bet allie and James are working on a trail/ultra/mud running version that not only ejects a GU if you press the square root button but ejects, a headlamp, pyjamas, a cooked breakfast and all sorts of crazy things if you punch in 80085.

I bet if you hit the X button followed by 2, the Fallie Watch converts downhill racing/treadmill training times into legit racing and training times:)

Sounds and looks like you had a great birthday - good stuff. That really is a class gift.

From Jake K on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 07:08:31 from 67.177.11.154

Very helpful, Bam. The user's manual was written in British, and I couldn't understand a single word of it! So nice job on the translation, very helpful.

From seeaprilrun on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 09:06:49 from 68.102.189.33

That is beyond awesome!

From Dave Taylor on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 09:34:56 from 63.255.191.163

If you run with that in an actual race I'll follow behind you banging two coconuts together :)

From Steve on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 11:01:54 from 66.87.113.231

Wow, you need to get back up to 140 mile weeks so you have less time on your hands. :-)

From Jake K on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 11:02:43 from 67.177.11.154

The Smoores are the ones who built it!

From allie on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 11:10:15 from 161.38.221.168

it only took five minutes to make. we have a 3D printer in our crawlspace.

From Rachelle on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 11:22:04 from 159.212.71.77

My stomach is in pain from laughing. Best birthday gift ever!

Does it calculate how much time it adds per mile because of the extra weight on your right side?

From Bob on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 19:56:32 from 67.176.195.62

Come on, HP reverse Polish notation is where it's at.

From Fritz on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 20:49:19 from 67.177.4.64

I can attest to the coolness of this device. Very well constructed and its functions are endless. Only downside could be a race with a crosswind.

From Christie on Tue, May 07, 2013 at 05:57:33 from 74.213.202.246

This is absolutely awesome! haha Happy (late) Birthday Jake

From ACorn on Sat, May 11, 2013 at 15:54:56 from 71.213.40.95

Not sure if you care but you didn't add your second run to the daily total. Keep up the good work and let me know if you're selling that watch I'd be willing to pay top dollar.
