AM - 4 miles w/ Andrea. Similar to yesterday, to the beach and back. Still fairly beat up from Saturday.

Didn't have to fly home until 3:30pm so we were able to spend a good chunk of the day outside along the water. It was a really great weekend... ideal weather in a beautiful part of the world, and lots of fun time with friends who we don't get to see often enough.

Even with Curran factored in, this group of men has managed a net hair increase over the last decade.

Hopefully no more airplanes between now and the holidays. I think we both hit our flying burnout threshold.

I would have loaned you a tie.

If you need one for your own wedding, let me know.

I've never worn a tie to a summer wedding on principle. It makes no sense for women to be allowed to wear dresses with an open, plunging neckline while men are expected to choke. My opinion is that as long as you keep the chest shaved, it looks formal enough.

Hmmm...

From Jake K on Tue, Aug 04, 2015 at 16:39:07 from 199.190.170.28

It must be among the most impractical articles of "clothing" ever invented. I'm not sure who came up with the idea, but like writing checks, wearing ties is an antiquated tradition.

They look good and are stylish. They can also make a statement.

You could check out the "Environmental Impact of Aviation" article on Wikipedia and then take a long look in the GUILT mirror.

From Jake K on Tue, Aug 04, 2015 at 17:01:10 from 199.190.170.28

Style and statements are two things I know little about. I'm fine with looking less-good and being more comfortable.

I don't feel bad about flying... it's fun to travel and see new places and friends. You only live once. I hardly ever drive a car so I feel like that earns me some slack ;-)

It is kinda funny how you're the only one without a tie...good for you.

Don't listen to Rob about the environmental impact of flying either. When I was flying, we'd take the B-1 out just to fulfill our sortie requirements and burn $100k worth of gas in a few hours (we had 4 F-16 engines), accomplishing very little other than checking a box - your tax dollars at work. So your 1/100 share of a fuel-efficient airliner is a drop in the bucket compared to that! I'll be going to global warming jail when they open the doors.

haha that is awesome, Joe. Thank you for showing how I'm (relatively speaking) saving the environment with every cross country flight.

Considering how quickly I packed for this trip, I'm lucky I even remembered a suit.

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Aug 05, 2015 at 18:13:34 from 24.10.247.181

OK, I was clearly joking. I don't even believe it's possible for wee little humans to damage the planet. I heard it on Rush Limbaugh.

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Aug 05, 2015 at 18:14:33 from 24.10.247.181

I think I have a man-crush on Joe now.

From SlowJoe on Wed, Aug 05, 2015 at 18:50:51 from 45.18.50.53

Rob, I'm reporting your disbelief in global warming to Al Gore. He will be at your house within the hour to give you a PowerPoint presentation. Any further independent thought on your part will be punished swiftly and harshly.

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Aug 05, 2015 at 19:23:14 from 24.10.247.181

According to Sean Hannity, Al Gore has a private jet. Hypocrite!

From SlowJoe on Wed, Aug 05, 2015 at 19:26:35 from 45.18.50.53

Well we all know that Sean Hannity is the most honest, sincere journalist around so it must be true.

WHY AL??? WHYYYYY?
