AM - 16 miles. 15K Wave Tempo in 50:39 (5:27/mile avg) - alternating 5 x (1K/2K). Tempo loop, so the splits are more of an estimate. Averaged 3:15 for the 1K segments and 6:51 for the 2K segments.

PM - 4 miles.

Slower today, but I'm not concerned. The marathon is about your body of work over 2-3 months, not the last 2-3 workouts. My hamstring has been intermittently bothersome for a week or two, so I'm being careful about not pushing the pace on faster sessions. Getting to the line healthy is a lot more important than squeezing an extra couple seconds out of workouts.

Only noticeable if the pace dips to low 5s (and there isn't any need to run that fast anyways right now), or accelerating to cross a street quickly (i can use crosswalks). So very manageable and I'm sure backing off over the next two weeks will have it back to 100% by the 12th. It actually feels better this week than it did before running TOU. Like they say, a moderately hard 26 miles fixes most problems.

Running a marathon actually cured my plantar fasciitis a couple years ago.

Really good workout - sticking to the metric system, I see.

For track or anything that could/should be done on the track, metric wins.

Next spring I'm moving to furlongs for my tempos runs. Stay tuned!!!

Can't wait - 22 yards per chain, 10 chains per furlong, 8 furlongs per mile. Now that's a system of units that makes sense.

AM - 15 miles. 80 Furlong Tempo in 52:00, really cranked it on the last two dozen chains.
