AM - 13 miles up to work. Finally registered for the TOU marathon!

PM - 12 miles home with a little tempo effort thrown in the middle to stretch out the legs - 3 miles in 16:00 (5:24, 5:21, 5:15).

Non-running related, but this trailer for MILE... MILE & A HALF put a big smile on my face when I watched it (several times) yesterday. Brought back a lot of great memories of summer 2010... I wanna go back...

Dang that looks so fun! If you back I'm coming with you. :)

Loved the trailer! Thanks for sharing! Oh, BTW congrats for finally registering for TOU :-) I would love to see you have an absolutely epic race. Are you aware of anybody running that may give you a race?

Great trailer. You've aged over the last two years - must be all those miles. Only joking, lad:) You've still got the twinkle of youth in your eyes. I can see through the shades.

My rule was that I only deserved to ask for an entry if I won the 1/2... so that's why I waited so long.

Alden Bahr is on the entry list. I've heard rumors of some guys from Boulder coming out. And occasionally some random Kenyans show up to this one. So who knows?... they'll post the final entry list with seeding in another week or so. Regardless of who is on it, my race strategy / goals stay the same - run smart and put myself in a position to win.

With Alden running you will likely have some company for some of the race--it'll be interesting to see if he's built up his base for the marathon.

From Jake K on Tue, Aug 28, 2012 at 15:02:58 from 155.100.226.191

Well he is a stud over 10K and has some marathon experience now, so I would definitely not take him lightly!

Way to finally register. ;o) It is gonna be a speedy race!

Great job last weekend, too. I saw you before the race and smiled, but did not want to mess with your pre-race routine.

From Jake K on Tue, Aug 28, 2012 at 16:29:40 from 155.100.226.191

Kelli I saw you and said hi up at the start! Apparently YOU were the one locked into your pre-race (or pre-pace) routine! :-)

From DaleG on Tue, Aug 28, 2012 at 18:33:52 from 152.216.3.5

Oh man, Jake, I want to go on that expedition! It looks fun and adventurous. I looked at every picture in awe.

Dale - every time I go through the albums, I'm STILL in awe.

From DaleG on Tue, Aug 28, 2012 at 19:43:43 from 66.87.66.55

It's a beautiful place for sure. I'm going to make It a goal in life to make that adventure.

Jake

The funniest part of that title is that on Sunday I noticed that to each person that we passed on our way done from the summit that asked how much further to emerald lake. I answered about a mile a mile and a half.

haha I've probably given that stock response a hundred times to fellow hikers as well
