AM - 6 miles around the neighborhood.

PM - 4.5 miles + 6 x 10s. Horsepark loops on the grass (about 2.8 miles w/ Andrea - she couldn't take the gym anymore and wanted to run) and then she drove me over the hill sprints hill.

Rob's post today reminded me to post this link from Vern Gambetta's site that I bookmarked a few days ago. Probably would be wise to run some 100s on the track this afternoon!

You can have my Buffalo 50 entry for tomorrow if you are looking to do a real run :)

You are trolling for me to say something to get me in trouble!

C'mon you know you want to say something!

I'm glad you talked me out of the Buffalo run. Tomorrow looks icky!

All running is unique and special and EVERYONE is a winner.

Maybe this will change your mind. This is the guy going after your course record tomorrow. Read his last comment.

FYI, Damian is actually a really great guy, didn't want to give the wrong impression.

That short article about speed work resonates a bit with how I've been feeling about where I could improve. Based on results, running the long miles certainly has its benefits and building a base is critical to long distance running, but its easy for me to go too long without a good sprint.

From Jake K on Fri, Mar 22, 2013 at 09:33:03 from 155.100.226.191

My "record" on that course is weak anyways. We jogged the first 10 miles. If someone really took it seriously it could go down another 10-15 minutes.

All I'll say to feed those craving something controversial is that its easy to be extreme at something, its very difficult to be excellent at something.

Dangit, I wanted a showdown.

Whenever you link to one of my posts on your blog my quantcast numbers go through the roof.

Just trying to pay it forward.

I need to remember to bring back your Ron Clarke book, since I finished reading it 3 weeks ago. I'll try to swing by tomorrow.

Great link Jake thanks for sharing. I have really noticed a huge improvement in my speed/stamina across all distances since I started adding more shorter intervals. I guess having a training partner that was training for the 1 mile race wasn't such a bad thing afterall. :) I would have probably never done those workouts on my own.

Jake.... did you see Andrea's picture on the Trail Porn site? I think I may have even seen a picture of you on there in the distance of one picture.

It's a great photo... Nice job by the photographer too :-)
