AM - 6 miles w/ Andrea, easy pace.

PM - 4.2 miles. Did a loop around SHP, went down to the track and did 6 x 200m (on/off) in ~35 seconds each, then jogged around a bit more.

Looks like tomorrow is going to be pretty windy. I guess we couldn't really expect the weather to be perfect for all three winter series races. The more pressing issue for me is what shoes to wear!?!? Figuring that out will be my primary objective for the evening.

I'm not liking the weather forecast for tomorrow morning.

What the heck?

From NOAA:

"Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%."

I just checked the hourly forecast which looks a little better. Says winds from the west at 15 mph at 9 am.

From Jake K on Fri, Feb 24, 2012 at 08:22:29 from 155.100.226.54

Nothing like a 15mph headwind for the last 4.5 miles. Awesome!

From Jake K on Fri, Feb 24, 2012 at 08:24:39 from 155.100.226.54

This is the rare situation where I'd rather just run at 6:30am before the wind picks up!

From Fritz on Fri, Feb 24, 2012 at 09:25:43 from 65.116.116.6

on the bright side at least half of the race will be aided.

From Jake K on Fri, Feb 24, 2012 at 09:28:10 from 155.100.226.54

Yeah lets just go for a 5K PR and then hang on

Drafting could be a factor in the race tomorrow.

I've decided to throw in the towel myself. My left shin is still inflamed. My focus is still on building a base and it feels unwise to set myself back by racing tomorrow.

Best wishes to ya'all!

Good luck tomorrow.

Guys, have fun tomorrow. I missed all three this year. Shave you legs and heads, less wind resistance.

Wear your Vibram Five Fingers. And if it's really cold, wear the Vibram One Finger, too.
