AM - 8 miles. Horsepark loops.

PM - 10 miles. Warmed up 3 miles around SHP, 20 x 200m (hot/cold) on the track, then cooled down 2 miles. Average for the 200s was 33.1 seconds (as it seems to usually be). I think I'm sort of just locked in at 33-flat 200s, whether I am running 4 or 40 of them.

Goal for today was to just get my legs loosened up for the last couple harder workouts coming up, without doing anything very taxing. Going through the full range of motion and running with good form on this workout seems to always make me feel better afterwards.

On my cooldown I saw a guy that looked like fiddy from a distance and I was excited... but it turned out to be a false alarm. I kicked the guy in the shins for getting my hopes up.

What time do you run generally each day? (the Horsepark loop or JAJA)

From Jake K on Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 09:56:56 from 155.100.226.54

JAJA runs usually meet @ 615.

Most days, unless I am just running straight to work, I'll start ~600-615am.

what do you think about FAJJ tomorrow? it's up to you. no obligation. money back guarantee.

i'm actually planning to just run straight to work tomorrow and start a bit later... i have to cut back my miles this week and even though its probably dial-up, they have internet in brazil and if i run more i'm going to get in trouble!

sounds good. i like your plan. stay in the orb :)

poor andrea and her dial-up...

Great workout Jake! You recover so quickly after those reps. Glad I wasn't the guy on the track, sounds like you have a future in soccer.

From Cam on Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 20:53:32 from 174.52.138.46

on runners world they have a list of the top Americans running Boston up to 2:19:53. It's gotta feel good to be a dark horse coming in! Excited for you to kill it.

Jake, do you know if Boston will be televised this year in our area?

From Tara on Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 21:05:29 from 75.169.143.129

I like Cam's comment. Also, if all else fails in Boston, kick.

From Jake K on Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 21:10:28 from 67.177.21.60

Cam - I did see that article... it seems like I'll have a handful of guys to run with, shooting for a similar time range. I definitely haven't "earned" my place on that list yet, though. Those guys all deserve to get some pre-race publicity. Hopefully I can prove myself out there as someone who deserves to be mentioned as well.

Dale I'm not sure what is going on w/ Boston on TV. In the past I think NBC Universal / Versus have broadcast the race - but I don't know what's going on this year.

Acorn - luckily he was wearing shin guards. And I definitely don't have a future in soccer - when I kick a ball, its a complete toss up as to which direction its headed in! :)

I like that idea, Tara. One way or another I'll start kicking! It might get me a PR or a DQ, depending on which type of kicking I do! :-)
