AM - 12 miles. LT Reps: 6 x 1 mile - 4:55, 4:55, 4:53, 4:53, 4:53, 4:49 (4:53 avg). Tempo loop. 3 up, 1.5 down. Target was 4:55, but couldn't help dipping under (good sign). The legs are starting to bounce back from the Colorado trip... extra RBCs kicking in?

PM - 6 miles + 8 x 100m on the Alta track (averaged ~14.5 seconds).

I decided to join Paul and Jason D and head to Indianapolis for the Monumental Half Marathon (Nov 2), so that will be my next big race. Although I'm smarter than both of them since I'm only racing half as far as they are.

I might just do the 5K marathon...meaning I'm much smarter than all three of you! :)

Nice workout! Mile repeat pace times are in exactly the format you want to run the 10K this weekend!

The 5K Marathon is the best kind of marathon.

Haven't you always dreamed of having your birthday party in Indianapolis, the headquarters city of USATF?!?!

From Andrea on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 12:04:21 from 72.37.171.52

I'm not going unless there's a 95% chance I can run 18:XX. It all depends on TOU 5K in 10 days!

I very nearly added the monumental half to my schedule. I contacted them and got an entry a couple months ago, but instead went with Big Sur.

But that looks like it could be a great chance for you to hit the OTQ. It'll be to track the three of you that day (4 if you run Andrea).

Dave mentioned on Saturday that you had thought about it... that's a quick turnaround from St George though, you'll probably be better off having the extra couple weeks.

From Jason D on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 12:17:05 from 128.210.82.162

Originally I was signed up for the full, but since I qualified for Boston by a good margin in May, I'm doing the half. Although I need to send them a message, otherwise I will be running the full!

My goal is to run faster than 55 seconds slower per mile than you.

Joe Bell is planning to run the full too I think, so there should be plenty of FRBers running amuck.

From Jake K on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 12:19:57 from 67.177.11.154

Oh cool... we'll have a nice crew there.

No matter what, Andrea will be done first.

From Andrea on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 12:24:06 from 72.37.171.52

I do wish the course was a little more spectator-friendly so I would be able to go to several spots to watch the half/full marathon.

From Amiee on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 12:27:48 from 155.98.164.38

So that means you are running a half of a half marathon?!? I am pretty sure I have no RBC's left after a week with you guys!

From Jake K on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 12:32:28 from 67.177.11.154

I'm running the 13.1 mile half-marathon marathon. It's a timed event. Jason is doing the same thing. Paul is running the full 26.2 (which will probably be ~26.4 on Garmin... calling it now, LONG COURSE!) mile marathon marathon.

From Jason D on Tue, Sep 10, 2013 at 13:05:20 from 128.210.82.162

That is one thing the course is missing, Andrea.

26.34 (2011) and 26.38 (2012) according to my two different, infallible devices, but Paul has GIS eyes and has tangled many a tangent.

Great workout Jake. I like that 4:49 to finish.

From joebell1981 on Wed, Sep 11, 2013 at 10:35:15 from 108.59.48.1

Awesome - we definetely all need to meet up and get at least one pic together in Indy!! (though, you'll prb have to wait around a while if they're after :) )

From Jake K on Wed, Sep 11, 2013 at 15:28:47 from 67.177.11.154

Definitely, Joe. Its great to travel to races like this and have a group you "know" there.

From FREYGUY on Fri, Sep 13, 2013 at 19:10:04 from 50.121.42.133

Love to meet up with you guys. I plan on running as well. Though you may have already showered and eaten before I finish :)
