Kinvara 5 Sneak Peak. A lot of people on the blog have already worn these in some of the tests  this summer/fall, and the feedback was really helpful for Saucony's team of designers and engineers. The new iteration of the Kinvara is awesome.

Never tried a Saucony product, but why not I will update about my test drive.

I still have a pair of Kinvara 1's that I run in...Saucony moves fast!

I just found another pair of 2s in the closet. Of course, many runners grew up with them. I went 3, 2, 4. In about the span of a year and a half. My 3s are ripping (have been ripping for ~150 miles).

I'm noticing that the toespring angle is elevated on the Kinvaras like newer flats. User feedback I guess, but why now?

I'm finally now wearing 4s (in the ViziGlo!). But I also have 2s still in the rotation. Its hard to keep up!

Yasir - I'm sure all of the companies make good products, but I can tell you that I personally know many of the engineers and designers at Saucony and they are such a passionate, intelligent, and hard-working group! Just great people who really, really care about making the best products possible for runners. I'm obviously very loyal to them, but I think if you give Saucony a try, you won't want to switch back to anything else...

...especially Newton :-)

Jason - the toespring angle is to give it a faster feel, like a racing flat. More efficient push off. A lot of people wear the Kinvaras for racing, but it doesn't hurt to have that component for day to day use either.

From Jason D on Wed, Dec 04, 2013 at 17:44:16 from 24.1.80.94

Right. I just thought the change was interesting after 4 iterations.

I've switched over to about 50/50 Newton/Saucony. You can probably talk me out of everyday Newtons but not the flats!
