AM - 12.6 miles. Easter Sunday Funday Runday! Andrea and I picked up Allie & James, then met Fritz up at the Legacy Bridge. We ran the SLC 1/2 marathon course, except for cutting off a little bit around Liberty Park. Andrea had no interest in looping around the park again after our mile repeats workout yesterday :-)

I really like the course and part of me wishes I could run it. Obviously I can't because its only 4 days after Boston! There is something nice about racing on streets that you run on several times a week. It will definitely be fun to bike along and watch everyone race.

A beautiful spring day. Its hard to believe this is what we were doing exactly a year ago. That was fun too. But warm and sunny is nice!

PM - 3 mile very enjoyable shakeout run w/ Andrea.

This year has been really great for training weather wise. Are you thinking of pacing Andrea for the 1/2 or will you still be too destroyed?

From Jake K on Sun, Apr 08, 2012 at 12:26:18 from 67.177.21.60

Hopefully too destroyed. I'll probably have my work cut out for me just keeping up on the bike.

From Andrea on Sun, Apr 08, 2012 at 12:28:03 from 67.177.21.60

ACorn - I thought you were going to pace me!!

From ACorn on Sun, Apr 08, 2012 at 12:38:23 from 24.2.76.146

Jake - Please explain to Andrea how pacing works!

From Jake K on Sun, Apr 08, 2012 at 12:41:55 from 67.177.21.60

You two run together for about 10 miles, then its every person for themself in the last 5K!

Nice run. Quite the change of scenery from last year.

Did I hear that ACorn is volunteering as a pacer? Perfect. Once you are done with Andrea you can loop back and help me out.

Great workout yesterday, it's going to be fun to see what you can do next week.

ACorn - great decision to run the half marathon, you won't regret it.

Such a gorgeous day. Made this tapering business kind of hard. :) Great running and hopefully you got a tan.

Enjoy the week. Maybe play some Madden or something to keep you mind off the race.

About a month ago I thought about buying an old nintendo 64 so we just just play Mario Kart during this last week before the marathon. I should have followed through on that! :-)

From scottkeate on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 08:28:14 from 216.49.181.254

I suggest finding a beautiful place in the mountains and going into a deep meditative state with visions of running the streets of Boston really fast as an alternative to Mario Kart.

You are primed and ready to crush the Boston course.

haha I'm so bad at video games that I'd probably psyche myself out and need to go run 20 400s to get my mojo back.

I'll find a way to keep busy this week. Its only 5 days, I can do this! :-)

From Fritz on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 09:57:22 from 65.116.116.6

Madden? You guys must be young. We should play Tecmo Bowl on the original Nintendo. I can provide the system if somebody can bring the game. Unfortunately the only game I can find is Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

From Jake K on Mon, Apr 09, 2012 at 10:02:10 from 155.100.226.54

I think the last Madden I played was '95 on Sega Genesis
