Andrea and I attempted to go for a run together this morning. We made it about three-fourths of a mile before mutually pulling the plug and walking back home.

Sad... Is it time to dust off the road bike?

Hope the hammy sorts itself out soon. Hang in there.

:( frustrated for both of you.

Hope you heal fast. I also had a bad hamstring problem, starting in January. Finally it seems that running a 100-miler helped settle things down. It is still there, but each week seems a little better. Pretty frustrating I know.

Smart to keep listening to the body, Jake.

Well clearly the only way to fix it is to run a 100-miler.

Man, I hope y'all heal up soon. I see 3/4 still rounds down to zero. Dang.

Davy - I would laugh at your comment about a 100 miler getting rid of some problems... but when I start to get PF or some minor achilles niggles, it seems like a good speed workout or race makes those things go away. So, you might be right!

Joe - you know, it was probably actually close to the big "one point oh", as walking (of course) bothers Andrea even more than running (she nearly has to sit in the cart at the grocery store like a small child), so she started running again in the final stretch home and I had no choice to but try and keep up (for pride, obviously). Still rounds down to zero though, as long as it was 0.99 or under. For the record, she beat me home. And that was when I hit rock bottom :-)

And I thought you had a good finishing kick...

Later in your running career you'll be running 2, 3, maybe even 4-milers one day and you'll look back on this and laugh.

I'd be happy with a 2,3, maybe even a FOUR miler in my immediate running career!
