AM (1) - 3.5 miles easy jog + hot tub while everyone was asleep or pretending to be asleep.

AM (2) - 12 miles loop around Navajo Lake. This was an incredible run. Kevin and I ran while Andrea and Amiee rode mountain bikes. First couple miles on a dirt road, then we cut off to some of the smoothest rolling single track I've ever run on. And... it was all above 9000 feet. The last couple miles took us though an old lava field. This route had everything.

After the run/bike, we went for a short hike to Cascade Falls. Then checked out a scenic area around Cedar Breaks. Now I'm taking a breather and gearing up for another big adventure tonight... more to come...

PM - 8.9 miles to the top of Brian Head Peak and partway back down. 1700+ foot climb over 6 miles to the summit (11,307). The rest of the crew drove to the 3 mile mark, I started from our hotel and met them there. Andrea and Amiee rode mountain bikes to the top, Kevin and I ran up and kept a pretty solid pace all the way. Scroll all the way down for the photos from this run... AMAZING!!!!

OK lots of pics today... here's the shots from the run up to the top of Brian Head peak...

What a run!!!

Oh, to be young and care free. LOL

I really miss going to places like that. However, you guys are inspiring me to get out and explore more.

Wow, I think I recognize all of those trails from days down at SUU. Awesome. I LOVE Brian Head. The trails and climbing are really under-appreciated.

Glad your not getting burned up up there! Be careful and have a blast!

From Jake K on Tue, Jul 03, 2012 at 18:30:38 from 216.241.207.3

It hardly counts as training when its this much fun!!

Navajo Lake is a great place to run. Highly recommended. I think I'm going to put together a big list of cool places to run down in this area... there's not a lot of information out there, but its seriously the best place I've ever been for high altitude soft surface running! No wonder Cam Levins is so fast! :-)

Collin I will email you when I get back.

Triples?! You are one sick puppy, Jake! I'd gladly exchange the Midwest concrete for some of those dirt roads.

Rob - I hate wearing clothes... to me, a good vacation is one where I wear a shirt as few times as possible. Saves on laundry too.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

I actually went to see "Magic Mike" with Ann a couple days ago. That's how secure I am.

From MichelleL on Tue, Jul 03, 2012 at 19:37:29 from 42.98.254.64

This looks so fun. And what a bunch of skinnies you all are!

I am afraid I am completely anti shirt now as well. It becomes habit too. Not sure I will want to wear a shirt when I am in Utah even if it's cool.

From Jake K on Tue, Jul 03, 2012 at 20:39:07 from 216.241.207.3

It won't be cool, Michelle... the whole state is on fire!

This is the pic of Anton K. I was reminded of when I saw the pic of you of Kevin. I guess the backdrop in his picture is a bit better but at least you guys are still running.
