Are you still running the track 5k this weekend?

That's the plan at the moment, unless I catch Andrea's illness.

I've got a pretty long/hard workout tomorrow, and then the 5K on Friday night is taking the place of the workout I had scheduled for the weekend. So this will be a pretty good quality week and then I'm going to really taper going into the 10 mile championship... I think I can run pretty well there.

I think a track race will be good for the competitive mindset. You know that feeling when you step on a track to race? It's good for you.

Agree. That's why even though it didn't fit "perfectly" into what I had planned, it was worth a slight alteration. The pain of a 5K will make the pain of 10 miles feel less bad... for a few miles at least :-)

Plus, otherwise this trip to Atlanta would be really annoying, having to fly that far for a one day meeting.
