AM - 10.3 miles. I was planning to do a short tempo run on the "home" loop (same thing Andrea did yesterday), but I didn't sleep very well... and more importantly - I realized (3 days later) that when I cleaned my jeep on Sunday, I locked all the keys inside it (again! ahhhhh!). So, running up to work was really the only option today. An option I'll gladly take. Did ~6 miles w/ Andrea, then I went up the hill and she ran home.

PM - 10 miles home. Threw in the 2 mile + 1 mile efforts I've done a few times recently - 10:08 and 4:50. Didn't feel 100% so I didn't push it very hard at all today. Just for reference, the 2 mile is ~1.5% downhill and the mile is ~0.5% down. So its pretty easy to run those paces. Good for turning the legs over, though... and nice to get in a few quality miles during a run commute.

Now - gotta get those keys out of the jeep!

(iPad test - Sasha made it work!)

Alta tonight?

I was hoping you could run a 5.8 mile tempo with Kramer - for him a time trial.

From Jake K on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 08:35:59 from 155.100.226.54

That was my plan - to drive to work and then go up to Alta tonight, but now with ANOTHER wednesday car problem, I gotta see what I can do.

I assume you don't mean a 5.8 mile TT/Tempo @ Alta, right?

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 08:53:14 from 24.10.249.165

Yep, start at the beginning of the dirt road, up to the campground, one time around and back down - about 5.8 miles.

He did just over 33 minutes last week.

I'd be glad to pick you up or help you out with your car if you need it.

Let me guess you didn't sleep well because you were up all crying happy tears over the fab 5 winning gold. :)

What is the grace period before you can start recycling nicknames? "Fab Five" (to me) is the 1991 Michigan basketball team. But its been over 20 years now, so maybe its fair game.

I always love it when the gymnasts do so well. They are under so much pressure, nowhere to hide, and they are so young. Its nice to see them shine like they did.

Andrea and I were laughing about how the current team wasn't even (or was barely) alive when the USA won gold in 1996.

Hmmm if you click on that link - it doesn't seem like its me. For starters, that Jake hasn't updated his blog in 4 years, and #2...

Hmmm... I'll bet she meant it to be you.

Do you need any help w/your car?

From Jake K on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 13:20:57 from 155.100.226.54

I just gotta get it unlocked once I get home later

From allie on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 13:54:12 from 174.23.149.58

just don't call draper key n locks. they are neither reliable nor friendly as their website states, and they charge $169.69 for jeeps.

also, they use a blood pressure pump to wedge the door open.

From ACorn on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 14:15:55 from 68.66.168.22

Have you thought of maybe installing a wireless door keypad on your next car?

From Jake K on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 14:17:21 from 155.100.226.54

Or leaving the spare key in the kitchen, instead of inside the glove compartment.

From DaleG on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 17:20:32 from 152.216.3.5

Well now you need to get the spare key out of the glove compartment now that everyone knows where you keep it. lol

So are you telling me that I can blog from my iPad now?

From Jake K on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 20:10:57 from 67.177.11.154

From runningafterbabies on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 20:15:19 from 71.195.219.247

Sweet. But I guess that means I don't ahve any more excuses for late race reports. What browser do you use? I have Safari.

From Lulu Walls on Wed, Aug 01, 2012 at 20:29:01 from 166.70.240.95

Yay for iPad workage!

From Jake K on Thu, Aug 02, 2012 at 08:56:42 from 155.100.226.54

Melody - I have safari on the ipad, too. It seems to be working. Kudos to Sasha for making the fix!
